Living Near 2944 Zuni Street: A LoHi Neighborhood Guide

Getting your bearings

Lower Highland is one part of the larger Highlands area. People draw its edges a little differently, so treat neighborhood names as a general orientation rather than a boundary line. What matters more for daily life is how a specific address connects to the places you actually go. Visit Denver describes the area as a mix of historic and modern architecture with a strong restaurant scene, and notes the Highland Bridge as one of the pedestrian connections toward downtown.

Rather than estimate travel times, each destination below links to live directions starting at the loft. Choose walking, biking, transit or driving in the map and compare the routes yourself.

Everyday outings

Little Man Ice Cream at 2620 16th St is the original milk-can shop, known for its 28 foot milk can. It tends to be a landmark people use to give directions as much as a place to stop. Directions from the loft to Little Man Ice Cream.

Avanti Food & Beverage at 3200 Pecos St is a food hall with several vendors under one roof, which can make it an easy choice when people in a group want different things. Directions from the loft to Avanti.

Closer to home, the blocks around Zuni Street and West 30th Avenue have their own small storefronts. The listing photos show several of them, so you can see the immediate street before you visit.

Outdoors

Confluence Park sits where Cherry Creek meets the South Platte River, and it is a common starting point for riverside paths. Directions from the loft to Confluence Park.

REI Denver Flagship at 1416 Platte St is useful beyond shopping. The store lists bike and ski shop services, which matters if you plan to keep gear in a smaller home and want maintenance nearby. Directions from the loft to REI.

Downtown and transit

Denver Union Station combines restaurants and shops with a regional rail and bus hub. If you commute or travel often, look up the specific line and schedule you would use on the transit agency site rather than relying on general descriptions. Directions from the loft to Union Station.

Game days and events

Empower Field at Mile High is at 1701 Bryant St, and its plan your visit page covers event information and directions. Ball Arena is at 1000 Chopper Circle. Being near major venues can be a convenience for fans and a consideration for anyone sensitive to event traffic, so check the venue calendars for dates that matter to you. A practical checklist for your visit

A listing can tell you what a home is. A visit tells you how it fits your routine.

  • Walk your real route. Pick the two or three places you would go most often and walk or ride there from the front door, using the directions links above.
  • Notice crossings and grade. Pay attention to busy intersections, stairs and hills along the way, especially if you carry groceries, use a stroller or ride a bike.
  • Come at the times that match your life. A weekday morning, a Friday evening and an event day can feel very different. If you can, see the block at more than one of them.
  • Stand at the storefront windows. The loft has oversized street-facing windows. Listen for ambient sound and think about privacy and window coverings at the hours you would be home.
  • Separate your parking from guest parking. The unit includes one deeded space in a gated lot. Visitor street parking is a different question with its own posted rules, so read the signs on the block rather than assuming guests will find a spot.
  • Confirm current details. Hours, menus and event schedules change. Check each source site before you plan around it.

If you want to talk through any of this, I am happy to answer questions or walk the block with you during a tour.
